This painting started out nearly black. Then over the course of several weeks, petal by petal, it turned into one of the brightest gardens I’ve painted.
Shasta daisies are known for their brightness, their purity. I thought, “what a perfect flower to represent the light.” I wanted to create a piece to remind you—and me—that darkness cannot exist in the presence of light. The smallest sliver of sun changes a pitch-black room. Like this piece, every stroke of light and every act of good covers some of the dark beneath it.
Our world can feel dark. Sometimes it feels every piece of news is heavy. But each of us has the choice to illuminate whatever room we happen to be in. What if we all made that choice? Don’t ever believe the lie that what you do doesn’t matter—your light may be big or small, but it pierces the darkness either way.
Please allow 2-3 weeks to carefully package and ship; colors may vary slightly from your screen. International clients must reach out to jennifervanoss.art@gmail.com for a shipping quote prior to checkout.
